And rounding off this year’s conference experience, was attending the RWNZ A Touch of Fantasy awards dinner.
I wish I’d been able to afford to go to both conferences, but alas, I’m still awaiting a nice big book deal, LOL. However, the awards dinner was wonderful opportunity to catch up with old friends — and some new ones! — and also to help celebrate RWNZ member successes.
This year’s winner was the very well-deserving Kylie Short — go Kylie! (And yes, she was a very popular winner indeed — all those grins are genuine, believe me :-)
I also had a success to celebrate — another final in the RWNZ Clendon Award, with Jade’s Choice, the 3rd book in my Crystal Warriors paranormal romance series. A huge thanks to the lovely ladies at my table for appropriating my camera and snapping away, while I was up on stage!
Enjoy the photos – and BTW, I haven’t actually chopped off heads: just click on the individual photos to see the full view.

Maree, great photos. Looks like fun was had by all.
It was a great night, Eleni! Just wish I could have gone to the whole conference… sigh.
The pesky thing of money. Hope you can do both conferences next year :)
Great photos, Maree! I love Barbara’s wings!
Awesome! I swear that Jedi nearly killed me. Dangerous place, this Auckland.
LOL Erica. Yes, the force is with the Jedis as well as the light-sabers. Great shot.
