We’ve all heard that phrase: Men are from Mars, women are from Venus. And we all “know” from being told by various experts in the field that a man’s thought processes are very different to woman’s.
So today over at Writers Gone Wild I’m asking whether you would be able to tell whether the romance you’re currently reading is written by a woman or a man — aside from an obviously masculine name on the book cover, of course!
If a guy wrote romance novels and used a feminine pen name — and I’m sure we have all heard of examples of guy’s who’ve done just that — would it become obvious to the reader that the book was written by a man? Would some little nuance of phrasing or character motivation or word-choice — something — let the cat out of the bag?
I’m not judging — I’m just curious to know what you think! So please pop on over and leave a comment.
