It’s HEADS UP! time again *g*
First up: some news….
FREAKS OF GREENFIELD HIGH has just finalled in the YA category of the Gulf Coast RWA Chapter’s Silken Sands “Self-Published Star Contest” — WOOT!
This is the first time I’ve enter one of my published books in a contest, so to say I’m rapt to bits and beyond would be an understatement *g*.
And for me, what makes it doubly special is this:
“The Silken Sands Self-Published Star Contest was created to recognize excellence in self-published, romantic fiction. The judges of this contest are avid readers of romance.”
Winners will be announced on March 17th at the Silken Sands Writers’ Conference in Pensacola, Florida, so keep your fingers crossed for me as I’m up against some very very stiff competition!
THE CRYSTAL WARRIOR has been log-lined over at The Log Line Blog, and I gotta say, I love the one-liner they’ve come up with! It encapsulates everything I tried to say about this story, and puts my three-sentence-long teaser to shame. (In fact, I’d kinda given up trying to come up with a one-sentence-long log-line even though the book was written back in 2005/6!)
Here’s what I submitted:
She’s a dancer, and the more important thing in her life is the success of her new dance studio. He’s an alien Crystal Warrior with one big-ass curse hanging over him. In a moment of weakness she lets him seduce her. Now they’re magically bonded and his life is in her hands.
And here’s what the Log Line Blog came up with–
Actually, here’s the link to what the Log Line Blog came up with for The Crystal Warrior, because by sending you over there, if you feel inclined to leave a comment you’ll be in their monthly draw to win a $20 Amazon or ARe gift card. Just sayin’….
I haz guest authors!!!
On 22nd February the lovely JILL JAMES is my guest.
Jill will be sharing with us an excerpt from the second novel in her Second Chances series, SOMEONE TO TRUST.
AND, she’s giving away two electronic copies of the first book in the series, DIVORCE, INTERRUPTED. (This is a heart-wrenching, action-packed story about two people struggling to overcome what seem to be insurmountable problems in their marriage, while coping with a terrifying natural disaster–nail-biting stuff!)
And on the week of 5th March, I have the awesomely talented MARI MANCUSI as my guest — Excuse me while I do this:
Mari is the author of the hugely popular Blood Coven Vampire books, and she has a re-released YA story, TOMORROW LAND, due out in the next couple of weeks.
TOMORROW LAND is a zombie post-apocalyptic story, and I can’t wait to hear more about it! (But I’m sure you’ve already guessed that by all the embarrassing squeeing, right? *sheepish grin*)
I’ll let you know more deets closer to the time.
That’s all for now.
